Results from the first Solution Café: What can we do about more greenery?
“We just got started ourselves.”
That’s how Ellen, a local resident, opened the evening with her inspiring story. Thanks to her, Zoran, and other neighbors, the VOC-kade is now greener and more cheerful.
Next step?
Work out shared maintenance and planting with the municipality.
Doing everything alone as a neighborhood turns out to be a lot.
At the Solution Café in the Buurtkamer, residents met with the area broker, municipal staff, and Over de Brug.
That connection matters. One participant said:
“I’m really impressed by the municipality’s presence and involvement.”
We focused on what we can influence now.
At the dialogue tables, people came up with follow-up ideas:
-
Redesigning the square at the Zonnewendebrug
-
More façade gardens and green walls
At the end of the evening, we did a quick round of feedback.
“Should we do this more often?”
The answer was clear: yes.
One person said,
“For the first time, I feel like we can really move forward.”
What’s next?
The follow-up tasks are divided.
In June, you can help think about the new design for the Zonnewendebrug square. It will be redesigned this fall.
Got a neighborhood issue you can’t solve alone?
Bring it to us.
We’ll organize a Solution Café.
