On the Waterfront
Photography of the Eastern Docklands by Adrienne Norman
Photographer Adrienne Norman spent her childhood abroad with her family, living in several countries.
Growing up across different cultures taught her to adapt easily to new situations.
This is also what she enjoys about photography: observing, meeting, and working with people from diverse backgrounds, all with stories to tell.
Shortly after completing her photography studies in the United States, she travelled to Amsterdam in the mid-1980s.
The Eastern Docklands fascinated her, and she decided to stay longer, living in a squatted warehouse on Borneokade.
During this period, she documented the area and its residents.
Adrienne still lives in Amsterdam East and has worked on numerous independent and group photography projects in the Netherlands.
The exhibition runs until 30 January.
Open Tuesday to Friday, 10:00–13:00.
